Fourth narrator, a concept in motion

The article aims to review and update the concept of the fourth narrator, through which the media system can be identified as such by the bias of thematic alignment in certain conditions of enunciation. Two questions concern us: the first, of an ontological order, has to do with the possibility of considering the system as a fourth narrative extract. The second, procedural, observes how the processuality of mediatization affects the fourth narrator. It is concluded that understanding the fourth narrator implies both thinking about media circulation as a device and admitting that we are facing a multifaceted and plurivocal narrator.
