Abstract

The technological transition to the digital version of the most circulating daily newspaper in the state of Paraná, Brazil, the Gazeta do Povo, resulted in more than 200 messages from rea-ders. The work sought to analyze some of the contents of these letters as narrative media produced by representatives of the public of the newspaper. The reader letter, classified as a modality of the opinionated genre, is also understood as "social response" of the community. The interpretative analysis, which encompassed excerpts from the letters sent between March and May 2017, found aspects of affective memory and daily habits related to newspaper reading. In the end, there is evidence of a reader-writer of letters resentful and feeling yourself "betrayed" by the newspaper of Curitiba.
