Inserted in a broader research, this article turns to six scenes of Game of Thrones that, when showing what we are calling female martyrdom, say about the possibilities of being a woman in the plot and beyond. Anchored in references, theorists and politicians dear to feminist studies, we undertake a critical cultural analysis of the media. Based on three blocks of meaning then unveiled, we see how a representation of female martyrdom in the saga serves different objectives, such as, under the aegis of a male gaze, producing entertainment from multiple violence against women, reiterating places of submission.
