This essay discusses the subject of erasure attributed to the historical facts and the Black people enslaved in Brazil with the objective of reviewing consecrated and officialized formulations. Thus, the study is guided by the critical metalanguage method to scrutinize the relevance of concepts to a given historical context. Taking the notion of palimpsest as a sort of revealing as the main hypothesis, it follows the historian Beatriz Nascimento, statements which inquires the conventional historical definitions, to reach the notion of quilombo as a form of historical review of Blackness as a human beeing. It opens, therefore, dialogues to the radical international Black thoughts, and with audiovisual features, to check the arguments.
