Abstract

The article analyzes how the filming style of “300” rejects naturalistic patterns, with emphasis in the fidelity to Frank Miller´s album. This text aims at questioning the film´s distinct mimetic concept, by using the technique, computer effects, virtual scenery and imagery, in the stylized reconstruction of the graphic novel´s scenes. The filmic adaptation is investigated in its metalinguistic purpose, trying to show how the preexisting printed images are virtually presented, in an ostensive artificial-looking that creates a new cinematographic paradigm for the epic genre.
