This paper intends to analyze the monetization strategies employed by disinformation websites in Brazil through the lens of the political economy of communication, journalism, and disinformation. By constructing a theoretical and analytical scaffold, this research delineates a codebook comprising five dimensions, which is subsequently applied to a representative sample of 55 websites. Findings reveal a significant reliance on programmatic advertising infrastructures, notably Google AdSense. The remainder of the paper integrates these results within the context of specialized literature, proposing directions for future research.
