Abstract

The article analyzes the case of “maras” and other transnational youth groups, adopting an academic and political positioning. Taking its own ethnographic location from an adjacent conception, it proposes the problematization of limit extreme situations experienced by the individuals involved in its research. The interconnections between violence and youth receive this way both a local and a transnational outlook.
