Cinema is an artistic medium that, by reorganizing reality, creates new ways of perceiving the visible. Inspired by Benjamin and Borges, this article connects the notion of cinema-world to the ideas of archive, collection, and montage. First, we approach cinema as a geographic compendium; then, through analyses of documentaries by Mangini, Di Gianni, and De Seta, as well as the film Die Parallelstraße (1963) by Ferdinand Khittl, we build our argument in favor of geographic imaginations.
