This article discusses the communicative status of the photographic image in the field of contemporary visual art. The paper analyses the construction of “no images photographies”, which constitutes the “Arquivo Universal”, a project by brazilian visual contemporary artist Rosângela Rennó, and focus on the uncanny uses the artist makes of photography in her work. It also highlights the possibilities of expansion of the potentialities of expression of the photografic image and the renewal of its conditions of prodution and of reception in this context.Downloads
