Abstract

Referring not only the works of leading experts as Straw Yúdice, Jenkins and Maffesoli, but also the empirical research conducted between 2010 and 2013 - research built on the collection, selection and analysis of statements conveyed in traditional print media and material posted social networks, field observations and semi-structured interviews with social actors (producers, musicians and fans) - sought to take stock of the challenges and prospects, especially in the last two decades to develop an independent music scene in Niterói (city located near of the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro).
