Abstract

This work analyses the reality show Big Brother Brasil under a political economic perspective. Its multi-platform broadcasting via open TV, pay TV, pay-per-view, Internet and mobile phone not only opens new possibilities for its commercial exploration, but, crucially, presents Rede Globo an important strategic positioning within the Brazilian media convergence context.
