Brazilian scientific production about YouTube in the field of Internet & Politics (2005-2019)

The objective of this research is to analyze how YouTube has been studied in the field of Internet and politics. The focus is received on two axes: i) as specificities of temporal and regional distribution and ii) as objects of study and as theoretical approaches most used in 90 articles and articles located in the field and published in Brazil, between 2005 and 2019, indexed to Google Scholar. The methodology consists in the combination of Bibliometry and Content Analysis. The data pointed that the production on YouTube at I&P grew from 2011 and that the southeast, south and northeast regions are the production centers on the analyzed theme. Also, election campaigns are found as the main object. Finally, political strategy / identity and citizenship and sociability are the two most widely used theoretical approaches in the analyzed universe.
