The general theme is the path of Francisco Luiz de Almeida Salles in O Estado de S. Paulo, of which he was editor in charge of film criticism between 1950 and 1961. We try to define the continuities of his writing, including forms, themes, postulates of daily criticism, as well as the theoretical option for an ambivalent realism. For this, we take as methodological inspiration the mapping of its "critical act" (Antônio Cândido), elucidating that its main field of maneuver will be the biographical/authorial, examined as place of commitment of the relations between the rational and the sensible.
