The article discusses the influence of platform companies on the journalism market, with an emphasis on the relationship established between Google and Meta and the alternative arrangements to media corporations in Brazil. Through methodological triangulation, the funding programs launched to subsidize press outlets were mapped and seven semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives of the initiatives covered, with the aim of understanding the influence of platforms on the work processes of communicators. Finally, the discursive strategies employed were analyzed. The results show that the platforms are interested in reconfiguring the press according to their operational logic.
